My first official day in a game jam!

So, since today was the first technical day of the jam, I decided to make a post about it! I did work on some of the art before today, but starting work on the game before the jam officially starts is fine, according to the rules, and I figured I'd need as much time as possible.

i was right.

I currently have the first background, some character sprite variations for Anne (one of the two main characters), and some "expressions". I decided today would be a good day to start working on the code, making sure the art fits together right in Ren'Py, etc.

I forgot how much I hate coding.

I'm using Ren'Py to make it, because the game is a VN, and Ren'Py is what I've used before. (I've used Ren'Py before after playing DDLC so I'm familiar with it, but I've never made a game or anything. And it's certainly been awhile since I worked with it.)

It took a LOT of trial and error, but eventually the pieces fit right. Now I need to adjust the text box size, because it's too big right now.

There's SO much GUI I need to design for this I didn't even know I had to...

The game's probably gonna be pretty short, with all the things I need to work on and sizing the correctly... (the GUI, mostly...)

So, yeah. That's today's update! I'm not updating every day, but maybe a few times a week. Or maybe most days. I dunno. Also! I don't want to show every drawing I make, so that the game is still enjoyable (I think I said this already but whatever), even if you've been watching the process. With that said, I do want to show you something to keep you interested, so here you go!

Oh, and I forgot to do anything for it, but Happy April Fool's Day! See you later! Bye!
